10-31-17 TWELVE STEPPING WITH SUPPORT FROM SCRIPTURE

Psalm 39v3 - The more I thought about it the hotter I got, igniting a fire of words.

Step 5: Admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.

Get it out into the open! The longer you keep it to yourself the worse it's going to get. Anger, bitterness, and resentments undealt with will keep God away and out of reach of your prayers. They will also affect your body in many negative physical ways.Heart attack, cancer, and ulcers. I still struggle with this step and scripture verse. I have no middle! People, unfortunately, look at me as if I am weak when I just bottle stuff up and hope it goes away. We can only stuff so much in that bottle before it explodes. Not dealing with this inner turmoil gives it strength and before you know it will consume you and take control. Once it has control there will be the only way to break its power! Exposing and dealing with it no matter how difficult it's going to be. Deal with it before it deals with you!Taking it to God will make room for Him to help you sort stuff out! God can be trusted with anything and getting it out will reduce its power and control. God will not only help you sort it out He will give you forgiveness which will bring peace and that makes room for joy and freedom.

Psalm 103v3 He forgives all my sins and Heals all my disease
The attachment in our last emailing asking TAM members to write to government officials inadvertently got left off the email. Please accept our apologies for the mistake. Find the pdf of the letter along with the text of the original email below!
Thank you!
TAM would like to capitalize on all of the recent attention given to the opioid epidemic, including the possible coming of a declaration of national emergency, the nomination of a permanent "drug czar" and other stories highlighting affected families.

We have worked with other advocacy groups to form an official position statement of TAM, to be sent to the President and other elected officials in Washington DC.

If you desire, we are asking members to mail a copy of the letter, along with your personal story, to each of the listed officials at the given address. The impact of these officials receiving perhaps thousands of letters within a short time frame cannot be overstated.

You should also send a copy to your own Representative & Senator.

FIND YOUR HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES MEMBER: www.house.gov/representatives/find

Please be sure to sign your letter and include contact information for any follow-up correspondence.

Please do not edit this letter in any way, except to add your personal story.

10-30-17 TWELVE STEPPING WITH SUPPORT FROM SCRIPTURE

Psalm 60 v 11- Oh please help us against our enemies (addictions) for all human help is useless.

Step 3: Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God.

Sometimes we have to get to the point where we want it more than life itself and until that day comes you will continue to struggle. Coming clean and getting your Heart right and back to God will be the answer to recovery. Stop dumping everything on everyone else including blaming everyone else when it comes to getting high. You and only you and your inner demons are responsible for the mess that has been made. God is willing and waiting for you to man up and get out of the way.

We're at the White House for the President's Announcement on the Opioid Epidemic
We’re at the White House today in support of the President’s declaration of a nationwide public health emergency in response to the opioid epidemic. With 144 people dying every day to a drug overdose, the additional tools this declaration provides are critical.
This declaration is due in part to the advocacy of individuals like you, who urged the White House to take action, and who have torn down the long-associated stigma around addiction, championing policies and funding to help those struggling with substance use.

It is our hope that today’s announcement will mark the beginning of a new chapter in our national conversation about this issue. We hope it will result in the administration and Congress working together to ensure that there is a major influx of new dollars to address this crisis in a comprehensive fashion, including prevention, treatment, intervention, family support, recovery and law enforcement.

You can read our full response to this declaration in our Newsroom.

We understand the importance of family care and support through opioid addiction, and we know you do, too. Don’t forget we’re always here to help one-on-one.
