2019 Annual Conference Spotlight: Miguel E. Gallardo on Cultural Humility

NAADAC is excited to announce that Miguel E. Gallardo, PsyD, will be presenting a keynote session entitled Cultural Humility: A Personal and Professional Reflection of Our Shared Humanity at the upcoming NAADAC 2019 Annual Conference in Orlando, Florida, taking place from September 28 - October 3, 2019.
The current sociocultural climate and discourse in the United States elucidates the importance of understanding our humanity while fostering deeper cross-cultural relationships. In his presentation, Dr. Gallardo will address the current literature on implicit bias, color-blind racial ideology, and working with culturally diverse clients in counseling situations.

Gary Ferguson, BS, ND, Joins the NCC AP
|
NAADAC is honored to announce that Gary Ferguson, BS, ND, has joined the National Certification Commission for Addiction Professionals (NCC AP) as an NCC AP Commissioner.
Ferguson is a licensed Naturopathic Physician who has worked across Alaska to address the social, economic, cultural, and environmental factors that contribute to the health and well-being of Alaskans for the past 17 years. His past positions include providing clinical services to his home region at Eastern Aleutian Tribes, serving at the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium as Senior Director of Community Health Services, and serving as the CEO at the Rural Alaska Community Action Program. Ferguson has served on over 15 different state and national committees, including a past leadership position in The Alaska Association of Naturopathic Physicians. He also currently serves as Chair of the American Indian Cancer Foundation and Co-chair of the Aleut Foundation.
