Hello from Mariners Inn ⛄

Here's what's been going on around Mariners Inn so far in 2019...

INSPIRE CHANGE
We're so grateful to be a part of the new Detroit Lions Inspire Change initiative! #InspireChange

Read more about our new partnership here.
What's new in the community?

Did you hear about HopCat's decision to rename their 'Crack Fries'? See what our CEO had to say about the move.
CEO RECOGNITION
We want to take time to recognize this fearless leader, our CEO, David Sampson! He was chosen for the McGregor Fund's 2018 Miller Fellowship. The McGregor Fund selects up to three agency directors annually for this honor, so that they can take time away from their day-to-day roles and take on self-designed activities of benefit to their work.
These agency directors are selected on a competitive basis and contacted by the Fund about the application process.
Join us in acknowledging our CEO for his dedication to the Mariners Inn mission and the Detroit community! We're proud to be on his team!
CLIENT SPOTLIGHT
"I have respect for all the staff...they help people save their lives. I cleaned out my heart to make room for some good." - George

Read more of George's story on our website here.
Looking to give somebody a HandUp?
"I'm just trying to be the best dad I can be to her and try to guide her in the right direction. Since I was able to put down the alcohol and drugs, I've been able to help her get a car, and I'm just being productive now."
- Ray

Consider giving our clients looking to live independently a HandUp this winter! Read their stories and donate here.
Thanks to all who supported Mariners Inn's Alumni & Outreach We Care program on January 11! After the program, our outreach team took the leftover food and care packs to individuals on the street in our community to show that We Care. We Care was held at The Cathedral Church of St. Paul.

Look out for this event again next year.
Olayami Dabls' piece captured by: RH Hensleigh
This beautiful art piece was done by Olayami Dabls (of Dabls MBAD African Bead Museum), as part of Signal-Return's On Press: Making Visible an Unseen Detroit. Olayami Dabls chose to support Mariners Inn through this art piece.
50% of sales come back to us! We can't thank Signal-Return enough for this project and Olayami Dabls for choosing to promote Mariners Inn.
And remember...Social Enterprise can help you save money AND shorten your to-do list...all while supporting recovery!

Shorten your to-do list and bring in Mariners Inn's Social Enterprise program to do your winter yard work! When you make an appointment with Denice (dwelch@marinersinn.org) you're supporting recovery! Pass it on.
