Battling himself to find the Lord

Oftentimes childhood trauma can leave unanswered questions: Why did this happen to me? What did I do to deserve this? What do these actions against me mean about me as a person? How could God have let this happen? Many go through their lives searching and acting out as a result of early abuse. Ryan was no exception to this onset of inner turmoil. In fact, his questions led him to pursue a Master's degree in counseling. However, merely seeking knowledge to aid others could not quiet the chaos within.

By the time Ryan arrived at His Mansion in 2013, he realized he needed healing that went beyond his symptoms of depression and sex addiction. His relationships with women were unhealthy and he had almost none with men. He realized that he hoped to marry some day and have a family, but his past interfered with his hopes for the future. "I wanted to stop the lifestyle, be a slave to it no longer." With over 30 years of painful patterns developed, Ryan arrived expecting condemnation and disgust. Instead he encountered a Christ-centered community emitting grace and love.
