When The Family Is In Crisis

Secondhand drinking and drugging. Ever heard of it?

Last night we sat down with Michael Herbert, CASAC, ICADC, CIP who is one of the most sought out clinicians in the behavioral health field.
Michael has worked with thousands of people and families suffering from addiction and mental health issues in multiple countries.

Michael coined the term for families who feel all the effects of addiction, but aren't using the alcohol and drugs. He explained the issue in today's treatment world with how family programs work and why it isn't enough to respond to a crisis they've been living with for years.

He finally spoke about how recovery isn't just for the person who is addicted, how an entire family can experience PTSD, relapse, and gave us a number of ways that the family system can heal.
