NIDA for Teens: Advancing Addiction Science

Updates to NIDA's Mind Matters Series

A new teacher’s guide and fresh video clips are now available as part of NIDA’s Mind Matters series. With materials available in print and online, and in English and Spanish, the popular Mind Matters series is designed to help students in grades 5-8 understand the biological effects of drug use and misuse on the brain and body. Illustrated, drug-specific booklets and other materials also help students identify how drug-induced changes affect behaviors and emotions.

Help the youth in your community make informed choices.

Drug Information in English and Spanish

These nine illustrated booklets are available on our recently redesigned NIDA for Teens website in both English and Spanish. Each of the booklets in the Mind Matters series is devoted to a specific drug or drug topic, including:

In addition, a Teacher’s Guide provides background information for each topic.

New Video Snippets

By popular demand, we offer quick videos that bring each drug topic to life and help reinforce key messages—during instructional time or for posting on social media. Find the animations throughout the Mind Matters pages or all in one place, on YouTube.

Order Copies

Print copies of the English-language booklets can be ordered through our clearinghouse.
