Are you and your partner on the same page?

What If My Partner and I Don’t Agree on How to Help Our Child?

It’s normal for couples to be on different pages when it comes to basic parenting issues such as when homework should get done or how much time a kid should spend on an iPad. So it’s very easy for partners to be polarized around how to handle a child when they are using alcohol or drugs.

A first step is to find common ground. You both want your child to live a healthier, happier life. And you both want to do the best you can to get them there. So, try to collaborate. Have a conversation about everything you do agree on first. It’ll have the added benefit of making you both feel more connected before diving into your differences.
