Dear Joseph,
On sweltering summer days, we can always find a safe place to escape the heat. Unfortunately, many of our homeless friends in Philadelphia have no escape. Men and women experiencing homelessness spend long summer days navigating the city streets in search of a small patch of shade to rest without being told to leave. Many of your homeless neighbors struggle to find even a few moments of relief.
Now more than ever, life on the street is tough, especially during this current health crisis. As our homeless neighbors struggle to survive, please do not take a vacation from helping those who need it most. Your partnership is important as more and more homeless guests seek refuge and care at the Mission.
By providing shelter, nutritious meals, and case management for our homeless guests this summer through your donation you can also be an encouragement to men like Charles.
Charles came to the Mission a few months ago, and while seeking stability, he is actively working to mend broken relationships from his past. With the help of the Mission's Homeless Services Team, he is making progress towards getting a job and an apartment. Through the support of his church community, he is also starting to rebuild trust with those he cares about most. During this health crisis, the Mission has become a place of hope, home, and health for Charles. Today, Charles volunteers in the kitchen and sees firsthand how the food he helps prepare can change lives. You make it possible for Charles to offer encouragement and kindness to men in desperate need of a meal, shelter, stability, and God’s love.
