From Mary’s song in Luke 1 in verse 46 and 47, we read, “My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior.” (ESV)
As we pause on this day to remember the birth of Christ, we pray that just as John leapt in Elizabeth’s womb at the presence of Jesus in Mary’s womb, may your spirit leap with joy for the birth of Jesus as you celebrate. We pray you are filled with His presence so that you radiate Him and magnify Him to all those that you encounter.
You see, Mary gave birth to the Savior and because of her, now today, we get to carry Him to the rest of the world to radiate and magnify Him. So, would we all carry like Mary? Verse 38 of Luke 1 says, “And Mary said, “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.” (ESV)
We pray that this season brings you closer to Father God, that you carry Jesus as Mary did to the rest of the world; as a servant of the Lord who is willing to say, “Let it be to me according to your Word." And that as you go and as you rest, your soul will magnify the Lord and your spirit rejoice in God our Savior.
Merry Christmas!
