Dear Joseph,
Everyone experiences difficulties, but for individuals experiencing homelessness, these difficulties can be catastrophic. Steve can't believe how quickly his life spiraled out of control. He had made some poor decisions and spent six months in prison. Homeless and rejected by his family, Steve sought refuge at Sunday Breakfast Rescue Mission.
The Mission served as a safe haven for Steve to have a hot meal, and he visited on and off over the next year.
"I had no reason to leave, I just did. When I asked to come back, the chaplains told me to 'come on home.' That was nice to hear."
As the holiday season draws near, men like Steve remind me of how thankful I am for dedicated friends like you. Friends who choose to come alongside those in need and welcome them home with a hearty meal and safe place to rest at night. Steve's joy, and the joy of men like him, is renewed every day because of your compassionate support.
Hope begins when our homeless brothers and sisters receive a hot meal, a restful night's sleep, and a much-needed second chance.
Help make this possible by ensuring your homeless friends have something nourishing to eat this fall for just $2.25 a meal!
Yours in Christ's Service,
Jeremy Montgomery
