NIDA for Teens: Advancing Addiction Science

Plan for NDAFW This Spring

Mark your calendars for a week of shattering myths and exciting events from Monday, March 30 to Sunday, April 5, 2020.

Over the years, participants like you have told us that hosting National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week® (NDAFW) in January is a challenge because of weather, exams, and holidays. Recent research shows that people are more likely to try drugs for the first time during the summer, making spring a critical season for reaching students with important messages about drug and alcohol use. With all this in mind, the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) is officially moving NDAFW to the spring—in 2020 and for years to come.

Join us in celebrating the 10th anniversary of NDAFW March 30 to April 5. (And for National Drugs and Alcohol Chat Day on Wednesday, April 1—no fooling!). In the coming months, NIDA will roll out an updated website, new games and resources, and a schedule of technical assistance webinars to ensure this NDAFW will be the best experience yet!
