September Telebehavioral Health Institute (TBHI) Video on the "Hub and Spoke" Model
|
|
NAADAC is excited to present the sixth monthly video in partnership with Telebehavioral Health Institute (TBHI) to bring telehealth tips to addiction professionals. This FREE three-minute video will review the "hub and spoke" model as it relates to telebehavioral health.
TBHI is an institute devoted to training and consultation with professionals seeking to develop the legal, ethical, and clinical competencies related to working with technology in behavioral health.
NAADAC members will get $10 off TBHI webinars (1 CE each) and a 20% discount on telehealth training and certification packages to help them expand into telehealth in an informed, ethical, and legal way.
The TBHI Level I Professional Training Certification Package contains four courses worth 15 CEs and gives members six months of access to all training materials. The TBHI Level II Professional Training Certification Package contains nine courses worth 36 CEs and gives members twelve months of access to all training materials as well as twelve-monthly Q&A group consultations, both live and recorded.

The format of the presentation will focus on how to successfully complete the application process for a college or university to submit for consideration of certification.

NAADAC Product Highlight: Integrating Treatment for Co-occurring Disorders
|
The Integrating Treatment for Co-occurring Disorders: An Introduction to What Every Addiction Counselor Needs to Know is a skill-based training manual that will help addiction counselors improve their ability to assist clients who have co-occurring disorders, within their scope of practice.
Newly updated in 2018, the independent study course includes the 160-page manual and an online independent study exam that can be completed for 8 nationally-approved continuing education hours (CEs) and serve as useful practice for certification/licensure exams.
This introductory educational program is designed for those who do not have a significant background with co-occurring disorders and discusses:
- The many myths related to mental illness treatment,
- Barriers to assessing and treating co-occurring disorders,
- Relevant research and prevalence data,
- Commonly encountered mental disorders,
- Applicable screening and assessment instruments, and
- Issues surrounding medication management and coordinating with other mental health professionals.
2018 Update includes:
- DSM-5 diagnostic criteria and newest ASAM criteria,
- Current terminology,
- An expanded list of medications,
- Treatment Strategies, and
- Support of evidence-based practice and theory by research published since the last edition.
