Brave Alumni featured in The Chronicle of Higher Education

This Is My Brave College Edition storytellers featured in The Chronicle of Higher Education
Ai Bui and Ally Beard first told their stories on stage at Lesley University in Massachusetts last year for the pilot of This Is My Brave - College Edition. (You can watch Ai's story and Ally's story online.) Now, they are featured in an article in The Chronicle of Higher Education.
"COVID-19 Has Worsened the Student Mental-Health Crisis. Can Resilience Training Fix It?" (The Chronicle of Higher Education)

'...With no in-person support system to fall back on, Bui grieved the death of a family friend and faced a looming deadline for a big class project. It "really took a toll on me,” Bui said in a late-April phone interview. One night, “I felt so stressed out that I broke down for a solid hour sobbing really badly.”'

"In Each Other’s Shoes" by Elise Seyfried
"Ever since my diagnosis of bipolar disorder in 2006, I have been trying (hard) to explain what it feels like to people who don’t live with it. Mania? Actually it’s more than just doing lots of stuff fast. Depression? More than just feeling bummed on a rainy day.

I’ve searched for the words to describe the wild mood swings that would send me from one extreme to the other, and back again, sometimes within hours. Friends and family members would nod at me, and try to comprehend, but I could tell they didn’t really get it."
