Message From Executive Director

Our Mission:  To provide advocacy and recovery related services to individuals and family members impacted by the disease of addiction and/or mental health disorders.

A Message from Robin Horston Spencer, Executive Director of Message Carriers

As always, Message Carriers is still here to provide support, information and help for people working hard to maintain their recovery during this COVID-19 pandemic.  We know they can’t do it alone.   If at any time, you need help, please reach out to us at (412) 361-0142 during office hours, or at (412) 463-7006 after 5 pm.
The stress, fear and anxiety brought on by this ongoing epidemic is intense for everyone, but for those struggling with substance misuse and/or mental health disorders it can be even more difficult to cope.
Staying at home and self-isolating does not have to endanger your sobriety. It might even provide the perfect chance to deepen and enrich your recovery.
Fortunately, it is possible to find drug and alcohol addiction support during a global pandemic.

Until in-person meetings resume, online resources could be a virtual lifeline in a pandemic.

Organizations offering virtual or over-the-phone sobriety support:

It is incumbent upon each of us, now and in normal times, to protect, address and nurture our substance misuse and/or mental health disorders.  Again, please call Message Carriers at (412) 361-0142 if you need help or want to volunteer to help others.  After hours, please call (412) 463-7006.   Blessings for our continued recovery.
