 Shannon's Story

Born into an alcoholic household, Shannon lost her Dad at a young age and her Mother told her that she was her reason for drinking.

Later, facing numerous traumatic incidents, Shannon turned to drinking and using substances. After being invited by a friend to a 12-step meeting, Shannon found solace in others who had walked similar paths as hers.

Author Sarah Ordo says she was "your typical party girl" starting from the time she was about fourteen years old. For years her entire life was centered around drinking, which also was frequently accompanied by blackouts.
