When we hold onto these hurts and fail to heal, they can manifest in other areas of our life, keeping us stuck and providing secondary gains to benefit us or protect us in some way.

 Dawn's Story

Growing up an only child, Dawne describes her childhood as sad and lonely. With a physically and mentally abusive Father, she was also picked on at school.

When Dawn entered high school, she found belonging in a crowd that skipped school, drank, and partied, which later led her down a path of jails, institutions, and nearly cost her her life.

Brad recalls taking his first drink around 13 years old. The insecurity and awkwardness he felt as a chubby kid quickly faded as soon as the alcohol kicked in.
As he got older, he developed a passion for fitness but realized that drinking would hamper his ability to build a great physique, so he turned to pain pills.
