Several former NBA stars served dinner and dropped off a large collection of in-kind donations at the Sheprua Men's Center on July 5th! The group was in town for Ice Cube's Big3 Basketball Tournament at the BJCC and was serving in partnership with the Ricky Davis Legacy Foundation. After dinner the pros joined some of the clients on the basketball court where Hall of Famer Rick Barry spent a few minutes shooting with the guys!
Others among the attendees were DerMarr Johnson, Mike Bibby, Bonzie Wells, Alex Scales, Jerome Williams, Mike Taylor, and former Alabama standout Jamario Moon!
Discovery Clubs staff and volunteers wrapped up an outstanding week of Vacation Bible School at Central Baptist Church in Tarrant on June 28th! The goal of the project was to build relationships with the community and encourage children and their families to become involved in a local congregation.
The children sang songs, did crafts, heard a great lesson, received graduation certificates, and enjoyed pizza!
Billy and Suzanne from My Advisor passed out FREE ice cream to the women, children, and staff at Jessie's Place at the end of June! It was a wonderful and welcome surprise for everyone at the shelter on a hot Alabama afternoon!
