Announcing the NAADAC 2019 Annual Conference in Orlando, FL and Call for Presentations!

NAADAC is excited to announce its 2019 Annual Conference: Navigating the Addiction Profession will take place in Orlando, Florida, at the Renaissance Orlando at Seaworld on September 28 - October 2. Registration will open in January 2019!
Do you want to present at the NAADAC 2019 Annual Conference? NAADAC members and non-members are invited to submit a presentation proposal for a 1.5 hour breakout session pertaining to current and relevant information on one of these nine topics:
- Practice Management & Technology
- Co-occurring Disorders
- Psychopharmacology
- Clinical Skills
- Cultural Humility
- Process Addictions
- Recovery Support
- Education/INCASE
- Peer Recovery

NAADAC Appoints New Deputy Director
|
NAADAC is excited to appoint Jessica Gleason, JD, as its new Deputy Director. In this new position, Gleason will assist the Executive Director in managing and leading the association and oversee the day to day operations and activities of the communications, marketing, exhibits and ad sales, training, and professional development departments. In addition, she will assist the Executive Director in managing NAADAC’s government relations activities, sponsor recruitment and coordination, grant writing and programming, and other special projects. Gleason will continue to serve as Managing Editor of NAADAC’s quarterly magazine, Advances in Addiction & Recovery.
Gleason joined NAADAC in October 2013 and has been Director of Communications since January 2014. Prior to her time at NAADAC, Gleason owned a successful law practice and worked in international development.

Join Robin Cruze, MA, and Linda Lewaniak, LCSW, CAADC, for this free NAADAC webinar about recognizing eating disorder behavior in the SUD population. Cruze will provide her personal recovery story on eating and substance use disorder and Lewaniak will then discuss why the two illnesses have similarities, why they tend to occur together, the effects both illnesses have on the brain and what integrated treatment looks like in treating both illnesses simultaneously.

NAADAC Members - Let NAADAC hear your voice! Nominations are due FRIDAY!
Nominations are now being accepted in a Special Election for the open position of NAADAC Mid-South Regional Vice President for the term 2018-2020. This RVP represents the states of Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas and sits on NAADAC’s Executive Committee. The nomination period is open from October 24, 2018 to November 16, 2018, with special election voting taking place November 26, 2018 through December 21, 2018.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be a NAADAC Professional or Retired Member in good standing.
- Must reside and work in Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, or Texas.
- A minimum of two years of active engagement in the addiction recovery profession immediately prior to the nomination.
- A minimum of two years of experience on either the NAADAC Board of Directors or a NAADAC Affiliate Board.
- Must be able to perform and fulfill all duties and functions of an RVP as enumerated and described in the Bylaws and Policies and Procedures.
