Greetings!
There are many things in life that can become walls that separate us from a close relationship with our Father. For Vanessa, her insecurity and longing to be known by others caused walls between her and God. But thankfully, God never stopped knocking on the door of her heart. We hope you enjoy reading Vanessa's story, and are encouraged by her pursuit of a close relationship with her Savior.
Even a Hurricane—Vanessa September 2020
Sometimes battling an addiction is an unpleasant surprise to everyone who know the addict, including the addict themselves. Twenty-seven-year-old Vanessa was met with this unpleasant surprise.

So many things had gone right for Vanessa. Her upbringing would have been the envy of many. But Vanessa struggled with self-hate. She couldn’t come to the place of believing that Jesus really loved her, and that He could fill her longing for relationship. Instead of turning toward the Lord to fulfill her needs, Vanessa turned to men, alcohol, and pornography. Though God was knocking at the door of her heart, she kept it under lock and key, closing the Lord out.
