NIDA for Teens: Advancing Addiction Science

Help Students Understand – and Apply – the Science
of Drug Use

illustration of e-cigarettes. vapor, and lungs.
Teens now use e-cigarettes more than any other nicotine-containing product. E-cigarettes (such as JUUL) contain the same addictive nicotine found in cigarettes. You can help students understand the risks of vaping (using e-cigarettes) with NIDA’s free lesson plans and activities.

The Lesson Plan and Activity Finder offers free science- and standards-based classroom lessons and multimedia activities about the science of drug use to help you:
  • Provide students with a scientific understanding about drugs.
  • Emphasize the potential risks of drug use.
  • Enhance students’ critical thinking skills by having them analyze and evaluate scientific explanations.
We make it easy to find what you’re looking for. You can sort by:
  • Drug type
  • Related topics
  • Grade level
  • Classroom subject
Find lesson plans and activities to bolster your existing curriculum. Check out the Lesson Plan and Activity Finder today!
