A Thanksgiving Message from Our CEO

Dear Joseph, Thanksgiving offers us the chance to say how grateful we are to all those who have supported Sunday Breakfast Rescue Mission this past year. This coming Thursday, I wish that all of you could experience the joy of gratitude in the air of our Dining Hall, as many come to the Mission to experience community and the sense of family.   Without the Mission, many would be alone and without any family to gather around a festive meal.   In fact – watch this video from 6abc to hear what Sunday Breakfast residents are thankful for and learn how much food is needed to make this Thanksgiving possible…   During this season of Thanksgiving, my heart is filled with gratitude to you. I am so blessed to minister here every day, and I am reminded daily of how important your commitment to supporting our ministry is to each of our guests and residents. Over the past year, you have faithfully provided life-changing care to homeless, hungry, and hurting men and women.   Our aims and pursuits come from Jesus’ words recorded in Luke 14:13-14 (NIV): “But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”  This Thanksgiving and Christmas season, I pray that you will join us as we deepen our commitment to love and care for the poor and vulnerable in our City of Brotherly Love. In doing so, you will be blessed! Thank you for continuing to walk alongside us in partnership. Your support is essential for our ministry to continue to meet the practical and spiritual needs of the men and women whom we serve 365 days of the year, ministering every day in the name of Jesus Christ.
