Introducing the New NCC AP Chair
|
NAADAC is proud to announce that James "Kansas" Cafferty, MA, LMFT, MCA, CATC, NCAAC, has officially assumed his role as the new Chair for the National Certification Commission for Addiction Professionals (NCC AP).
The NCC AP, under the auspices of NAADAC, operates as an independent body for all matters involving the Association’s substance use disorders counselor certification and endorsement opportunities at the national and international level. Cafferty’s three-year term as NCC AP Chair began February 1, 2020.
Cafferty has worked in the field of mental health and addiction treatment since 1997. He has worked in several settings, including detoxification, inpatient, and intensive outpatient treatment as both a clinician and an administrator. He is a long-time NAADAC member and prior to becoming the NCC AP Chair, he served as a Commissioner for the NCC AP and, from 2007-2014, he sat on the NAADAC Adolescent Specialty Leadership Committee.

Upcoming Webinar for the FY2020 Scholarships for Disadvantaged Students Program
|
The Scholarships for Disadvantaged Students (SDS) program promotes diversity among health professions by funding academic institutions so they can provide scholarships to students from disadvantaged backgrounds who have a demonstrated financial need and are enrolled full-time in a health profession program or nursing program.
For-profit nursing and physician assistant schools are eligible to apply under the SDS Program. All other applicants must be public or non-profit private schools.
On Thursday, February 20, 2020 at 2:00-3:00pm EST, there will be a technical assistance webinar, which can help answer any questions applicants may have.
