The NAADAC 2018 Annual Conference will feature a two-day Department of Transportation - Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) Qualification/Requalification Training on Tuesday, October 9 and Wednesday, October 10.

Johnson, EdD, LPC, MAC, SAP, for this training, which, along with the accompanying written exams, meets the standards for Substance Abuse Professionals (SAPs) and other clinicians with the appropriate pre-requisite credentials to become qualified or re-qualified to practice under the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Procedures for Transportation Workplace Drug and Alcohol Testing Programs (49 Code of Federal Regulations Part 40, Sub-sections).

What is a SAP?
Safety is the first priority of the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT). To ensure that transportation providers employ workers who are 100% drug- and alcohol-free, the DOT developed regulations for an alcohol and drug testing program and created the position of Substance Abuse Professionals (SAPs) to assist those who are identified through this program as having a problem with drugs and/or alcohol.
SAPs evaluate workers who have violated a DOT alcohol and drug regulation and make recommendations concerning education, treatment, follow-up testing, and continuing care. and Drug Testing Program and created the position of Substance Abuse Professionals ( who are identified through this program as having a problem with drugs and/or alcohol.
