You will also hear from some sober livings that have successfully built great referral relationships with some of the best treatment centers in their areas.
12:15 pm-1:45 pm Lunch & Learn: Research on the Efficacy of Sober Living Houses & Strategies for Increasing Peer Support for Recovery Douglas L. Polcin, Ed.D, Moderated by Eva Hibnick Doug Polcin is one of the leading experts and researchers on sober livings. He will be speaking about his research, the efficacy of peer support, and how to encourage residents to support one another’s recovery. He will also be providing the audience with practical tips on how to involve house managers in creating an environment that encourages peer support.
2:00 pm-3:30 pm Session: Legal Landscape: Regulations, Revenue and Relationships Anelia Shaheed, Esq, Moderated by Eva Hibnick The regulatory landscape is constantly changing. Local governments are imposing restrictions on what sober livings need to do to continue to operate. The panel will be discussing: certification of recovery residences; the standards necessary for insurance compensation and how to be compliant with those standards as well as housing standards; patient brokering and the appropriate development referral relationships. Hear from some of the experts in the field about what is currently happening on the regulatory front so you can make sure to stay ahead of upcoming regulations.

4:15 pm-5:45 pm Open Forum: Ask the Experts Randal Lea, Christi Adams, Chris Edrington, Moderated by Eva Hibnick This is a unique opportunity to learn from some of the leaders in the industry and ask questions. Some topics that will be covered: offering case management/mentoring post sober living, how to measure outcomes, policies. pricing and procedures etc. We will solicit questions from the audience.
