Sunday is World Mental Health Day!

This year for World Mental Health Day we urge you to take care of YOU, to check in on the people you love and to focus on your mental health. How?

Prioritize your mental health by practicing self-care every day. Go for a walk, read a chapter of your favorite book, drink a tall glass of water or make a mug of tea. Call a loved one just to see how they're doing.  And remember, it's important to take care of our mental health the same way we take care of our physical health.

You are NOT alone.

THIS WEEKEND!

In celebration of World Mental Health Day, join us as we collaborate with This Is My Brave Australia for the 4th International This Is My Brave Mental Health Film Festival. This event is dedicated to providing stories which break the stereotypes that surround mental health.

Our focus is not primarily on film making excellence but how a film provides an alternative view to the mainstream portrayal of mental illness and wellness and promotes social justice, human rights through raw, honest and inspirational stories.

PLEASE NOTE: Viewing times are listed in Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST).
For US viewers, please consider the times listed as being in the Eastern Daylight Time Zone (EDT), and plan accordingly for your specific timezone on Sunday 10/10. The films are only accessible during their listed screening times.

Tickets on sale NOW! Click the button below to read about the films in the festival and order your tickets to view as many as you'd like.

New on the blog!

In honor of Body-Focused Repetitive Behavior (BFRB) Awareness Week, which takes place each year from 10/1 – 10/7, Brave Ambassador Morgan Hebert and fellow BFRB advocate Aneela Idnani share their stories on the blog.

Body-Focused Repetitive Behavior (BFRB) is a general term for a group of related disorders that includes hair pulling, skin picking, and nail-biting, affected at least 5% of the population.  These behaviors are not habits or tics; rather, they are complex disorders that cause people to repeatedly touch their hair and body in ways that result in physical damage.

Information provided by the TLC Foundation for Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors, visit their website for additional resources and support.
