Celebrating International Recovery Day

Partnership to End Addiction

Today is International Recovery Day, and we’re proud to partner with Facebook and Mobilize Recovery on efforts to lift the voices of those impacted by addiction and raise awareness of recovery.

You can help Stop Opioid Silence

International Recovery Day

We’re joining Facebook on the second phase of the Stop Opioid Silence (SOS) campaign. Through compelling, personal stories and videos, SOS aims to break the silence around addiction and bring help and hope to families impacted by a loved one’s opioid or substance misuse.

Heartfelt thanks to Paul and Mike, who share their recovery stories, as well as Joyce, Selina and Denise, the parents and caregivers who never gave up hope and supported them through their journey.

The campaign also features videos from Secretary of Labor Marty Walsh; Assistant Secretary for Mental Health and Substance Use, Dr. Miriam Delphin-Rittmon; and Acting Director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy, Regina LaBelle; as well as more than a dozen Members of Congress. Their messages emphasize the importance of ending the stigma that prevents people from speaking out and learning how to find help for themselves or someone they love.

As part of the SOS campaign, parents and caregivers can connect directly to the Partnership’s Help & Hope program via Facebook Messenger and receive customized resources and skills to support their loved ones. There will also be an opportunity to share words of support for those in recovery and educate your networks about the addiction crisis through a special Instagram filter.
