Let's Celebrate BIPOC Mental Health!
Watch Brave Alum, Young Elder, host a discussion about BIPOC mental health with Dr. Han Ren who is a licensed psychologist, speaker and educator based in Austin, TX.

This Is My Brave honors the BIPOC Mental Health Month movement to raise awareness on this incredibly important topic, and we will continue to share and amplify stories from the BIPOC community throughout the year.
The Brave Ambassador Program is accepting applications! If you apply before July 31st we will send you a welcome pack so you can showcase This Is My Brave in style!

This program is designed for college students, in-person OR online, to change the culture on college campuses and open up the conversation around mental health. This is a grassroots campaign designed to meet college students right where they are. Not all students live with mental illness, but ALL students are affected by mental health. We at This Is My Brave will equip the Brave Ambassadors with ideas, events, materials, and more, but we want this to be created by and led by college students.

We are seeking individuals who are actively involved in their college campus or would like to be! We need the storytellers, the advocates, the passionates, the outside of the box thinkers. We want students that share the vision of This Is My Brave - that we will one day live in a world where we don’t have to call it “brave” to talk openly about mental illness and addiction, we’ll simply call it “talking.”

Yes I want more information on becoming a Brave Ambassador
Is this you or does it sound like someone you know? Then sign up now, or forward this email to someone you think would be a good fit to help us change the culture of mental health on college campuses around the country!
Floris United Methodist Church presents
This Is My Brave’s National Teen Show

This Is My Brave is back on stage this fall for an encore LIVE presentation of our National Teen Show! Please join us on September 26th at 7PM ET at Floris United Methodist Church in Herndon, VA, for live teen performances of original music, poetry and dance followed by a panel discussion on teen mental health.

Our Brave teens use the performing arts to create hope for themselves, their peers, and society as a whole. Teens today need to know that it is okay to not be okay – and there are teens just like them that have overcome similar circumstances. Prepare to be inspired as cast members' stories break down the stigma surrounding mental illness and open up life-saving conversations for audience members. Register here.

One Mind's I Am A Champion Contest
We agree with One Mind when they say within everyone facing a mental health challenge lies the potential to be a Champion. The hallmark of a Champion is the ability to learn and grow. That's why One Mind and Laurie Hernandez are inviting you to participate in a new contest. We invite you to share a life lesson you’ve learned through your (or a loved one’s) experience with mental health challenges that has made you stronger. The first 100 entrants will take home free prize packages. All entrants can win incredible Finalist and Grand Prizes. By sharing your story, you can provide an example to inspire healthy growth in others. Artwork, essay, photography, video — the medium is up to you.
We are currently accepting submissions for the 4th annual Mental Health Film Festival screening on October 10th, 2021, in Australia, US and the UK. If you have a film about mental health, or know someone who does, please encourage them to submit to our festival!
