Greetings! Christmas is a time is the time for giving and spending time with loved ones. In this busy time of year, our attention can often drift from what is most important. But let us not forget the reason for this season—the birth of Jesus Christ. God loved us enough to send His Son to earth and give humanity a new hope found only in Him. It was this realization that set Wes free from his burden of shame. No longer did he have to live with the guilt of his past sins. Instead, he could live freely in a relationship with his Savior. Although part of the spectrum of emotions given to us by the Lord, shame can be the driving force to a persons’ self-destruction. For Wes, the weight of deep-rooted shame led him to His Mansion in 2019, even after becoming sober, accepting Christ, and living and working in full time ministry. One can find his identity in Christ, but still feel the need to hide his true self in God's presence. "I was living in fear and feeling unworthy of love and connection."
