I'm Convinced Sugar Is a Gateway Drug.

Happy Friday!

Well, I've done my research and (unfortunately) I have to say, these early morning office sweet treats I love to snack on aren't as sweet as they seem.
1. Sugar As A Gateway Drug
We all seem to know how sugar affects our bodies. We know about the weight gain, diabetes and tens of other diseases that have been linked with too much sugar consumption and lead to sugar addiction. Lesser know, or just now making its way out to the public, is the effects it has on the brain.

Michael Collins breaks it down for us, here.
2. Getting Sober When You've Tried Repeatedly

Last night we answered your questions from a poll we took on Facebook. In this episode, Veronica gets wild, I can hardly contain myself, and we also dish out the controversy of Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT).

Watch the full video, here.
3. Jon Snow Goes to Treatment

Well, Jon Snow may not know much, but at least he knows when to get himself some help. Early this week, we learned actor, Kit Harington entered treatment amid the Game of Thrones finale for issues with depression and alcohol.

4. Overcoming The Odds w/Bennie - Episode 107

In this weeks podcast, we hear from Bennie. Bennie represents the millions of people who work hard trying to carve out a piece of the American dream in a system that can backfire. Now with over ten years sober, we learn how Bennie sifted through the web of the culture he grew up in that could have ultimately failed him.

5. What You Need To Know About Suboxone

In today's world, Suboxone has been studied and researched to be an effective treatment option. How much do we know about it? What else should we know?

Get all the details, here.

Coaching data snapshot

There's nothing more important than knowing we're helping people improve their lives.

Loved ones & compassion fatigue

Our newest data drop covers the wellbeing of loved ones – family members who are directly impacted by someone's addiction. According to research, caregivers are at risk for higher rates of depression, worse health and lower levels of self-care than non-caregivers.

After two months of peer coaching, most loved ones report healthier routines, increased emotional satisfaction and improved rest.

Stop being a Stubborn Mule and Let Go let God !

May 31 , 2019 TRANSFORMATION THROUGH SPIRITUAL TRUTH FROM SCRIPTURE AND THE TWELVE STEPS TODAY STEP 3
\

Step 3: Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God.

Matthew 11 28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Life begins at Step 3 ! Letting God take control will bring peace in the storms of life. He knows the beginning to the end and he knows whats best for your life. Quit trying to go it alone and figure you have it all figured out because you don't.
