Lovelady Center Santa Shop Needs Your Help!

Every year, Lovelady kids - whether they live here with their mothers or are currently in someone else's care - receive a good Christmas because of caring people like YOU!! Each mother in our program as well as graduates of our program receive 5 gifts per child. Last year, you enables us to give a good Christmas to over 1,000 children.

Due to COVID, some of the businesses and churches we have depended on for toy drives cannot accommodate our boxes this year - understandably. Will you please consider hosting a toy drive or bringing new, unwrapped toys to 7916 2nd Avenue South, 35206?

Call Donna at 256.570.8176 if you will help!
I cannot host a toy drive but will give $ for toys for the children

You are the KEY

...to helping change lives! Bluegrass & BBQ Virtual Fundraiser Progress Report

You hold the KEY to changing lives.

Hearty meals, safe shelter, and education all unlock the pathways to a restored life. With your help, we can continue serving neighbors in need who are experiencing hunger, homelessness, or addiction.

I’m encouraged to report that as of today, our Bluegrass & BBQ Virtual Fundraiser is now just 16% away from goal. So many have stepped up and we are immensely grateful! Would you raise your hand to help now? Just one day left to help us hit the fully funded mark.

Thank you to all who have given generously to ensure our programs can continue without interruption and expand in key areas to meet the new needs and costs that surfaced this year due to the pandemic.

If you haven't yet contributed, I’m writing this morning to humbly request you consider a donation. Will you raise your hand and help fund-a-need by sponsoring one of the following program areas that are outlined below?

  • $120 for a week's worth of nutritious meals
Provide one month of meals to help a neighbor in need.

  • $500 for Safe Shelter
Provide one month of safe shelter in our supportive housing for one person.

  • $1,000 Career & Education
Provide 6 months of education for one person.

  • Where Most Needed
A gift of any amount is so appreciated and will be put to work immediately where needs are greatest.

Thank you on behalf of the thousands of people across Delaware County who come to us looking for shelter, food, training, or other help.

I hope you and your family remain healthy and feeling God’s love.

Most gratefully,

Kwinn Tucker
Executive Director, CityTeam Chester

P.S. Despite the pandemic, traditions live on. So, even though we can't gather in person, I have a special key keepsake for you, and all the folks who support this year's Bluegrass & BBQ Virtual Fundraiser, for donations made by Thurs, Oct 15. Photo of our annual tradition below. Thank you!

What actually works when it comes to prevention

Partnership to End Addiction

Preventing Problems with Substance Use and Addiction

Parents are the biggest influence in a teen’s life. A strong bond with your child, especially during the teen years, helps reduce the chances of them engaging in unhealthy behavior and helps set the stage for preventing nicotine, alcohol and drug use. Staying up-to-date on their life and interests, and having real, open conversations is a proven way to help prevent problems further down the road.

Hear from teens themselves about what teens think about drugs, alcohol and nicotine, get more tips for how to talk to your child about substance use, and learn how to dispose of prescription medication safely.
