Just days left: A story of hope

CityTeam Chester Annual Bluegrass & BBQ Updates

CityTeam Chester's Bluegrass & BBQ

Dear Joseph,

The power of one changed life never ceases to amaze me. James shares his story of life change. One day at a bus stop, he prayed,

"God, please help me, and He did. He brought me here to CityTeam. I was happy and blessed to have a roof over my head, food in my belly, and clean clothes...the learning center showed me that I'm capable of more."

James' Story - Part of CityTeam for Life

It's stories like James' that fuel us to continue sharing God's unconditional and redemptive love by continuing to offer food, shelter, spiritual care, and life-transforming programs.

Your support is crucial as we love our neighbors together.

While our annual Bluegrass & BBQ event is virtual this year, we continue to see our entire community rally together to help keep our programs going.

I am glad to report that so many people have stepped up to offer help in support of our programs. We are at 48% of our goal to ensure folks, like James, receive the supportive housing, training, and critical care needed:

If you've already made a gift to support our programs, thank you so much. It is because of your generosity that we can continue providing food, shelter, training, and care for people like James.

If you have not yet had a chance to make your donation, now is the time. Your donation will help us get closer to our goal to raise the funds necessary to carry on and expand services to meet growing needs in our community.

We are trusting God to provide through you and others like you. You may donate directly at cityteam.org/bluegrass

Thank you again for all the ways you are part of our work in sharing God's unconditional and redemptive love with so many people in need of immediate help and enduring hope.

With deep gratitude,

Kwinn Tucker
Executive Director, CityTeam Chester

National Substance Abuse Prevention Month Donations

OCTOBER IS
National Substance Abuse Prevention Month
This October marks the second annual National Substance Abuse Prevention Month – an observance to highlight the vital role of substance abuse prevention in both individual and community health and to remember those who have lost their lives to substance abuse.  The Office of National Drug Control Policy is highlighting National Substance Abuse Prevention Month and encourages prevention efforts this month and all year long to ensure the health of teens and young adults.
October is National Substance Abuse Prevention Month

As you know over the years the City of Angels has assisted the many families whose loved ones suffered from addiction. The team of coaches and volunteers work hard day after day to provide the useful and necessary information and training to help comfort those families, the addicted, recoverees, and friends with the tools and advice to face their addiction, and never is a fee charged to them or their families.

All our funds come from people like you who support our non-profit organization.
In October during National Substance Abuse Prevention Month (NSAPM), we are raising awareness of the ongoing pressing problem of substance abuse that continues to destroy people and families. We provide the necessary programs through Recovery Coaches, training, and assistance in aftercare.

We are asking friends of the City of Angels to make a modest monthly donation of just $9.00 a month so we can continue to provide ongoing services and critical assistance in addressing substance abuse. Just $9.00 a month, which is a little more than $100.00 per year will make a big difference in the fight against substance abuse in a big way. There isn’t a better time than this October during NSAPM to commit to helping protect your family, your community, and those in active addiction needing help.

Tears of confusion and helplessness overwhelm loved ones, and people you know. They need your help! The City of Angels has provided substance abuse services compassionately to our community and the surrounding areas for over 10 years. We need your support now to help others. COVID -19 has exasperated an already disastrous substance abuse public health crisis.
