Life Transformation With Spiritual Support From Scripture And The 12 Steps

Psalm 9 v 1
I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart;
I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.

Step 12
Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of Gods grace and these Steps, we tried to carry this message to others, and to practice Gods principles in all our affairs.

Gratitude leaves no room for a lousy attitude ! It has been a long difficult road and it is Miracle I am still alive .These are the words of most who are in Recovery. By now, most know without a shadow of a doubt ,if it weren't for Gods amazing grace, mercy, and His divine love and intervention in our lives we would have died prematurely.Somewhere in an abandoned house or on a lonely street corner, in the back of a car or in someones basement. Possibly in a jail cell or hospital bed! You get the picture ! We all were slaves in chains sentenced to die in misery and hopelessness. Alone, isolated, and crippled by fear , unable to breath wishing , death would come and the final curtain would close. At my lowest Gods amazing grace was shown and I received a super natural help that cannot be explained. Strength was received and I was able to leave the darkness ! For the first time in my life I experienced hope and joy . Life was a gift and somewhere along the journey I had been deceived and taken off course . Gods gift of life and my new freedom have given me a purpose ! I want everyone who's suffers like I once did to know their is away and too never give up. God hears your prayers and counts your tears ! His hearts aches for your return and He wants too give you the same grace and freedom He gave me ! I celebrate Him everyday and their is not enough words too truly express or show how much gratitude and love I have for Him.God loves you more than you could ever imagine, and He is earnestly and anxiously waiting for your return. Cry out to Him everyday and He will set you free , its a guarantee and a promise His only Son Jesus died for.

Galatians 4:4-7 – "But when the right time came, God sent his Son, born of a woman, subject to the law. God sent him to buy freedom for us who were slaves to the law, so that he could adopt us as his very own children. And because we are his children, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, prompting us to call out, "Abba, Father." Now you are no longer a slave but God's own child. And since you are his child, God has made you his heir."

2020 Recovery Voices Count Voter Guide is Out!

The Bucks County Advocacy Leadership volunteers issued four questions to our Presidential, Pennsylvania Attorney General and Auditor General and Bucks County Congressional and General Assembly candidates and here are the results in our 2020 Recovery Voices County Voter Guide.

The President & Vice President are not the only positions on the ballot this year. Our Pennsylvania Attorney General, Auditor General, Bucks County Congressional and General Assembly candidates more directly affect recovery community policies and we have easier access and can make appointments to talk with them.
Also, we have Libertarian, Green and Abolitionist candidates on the ballot this year as well.

The Voter Guide includes job descriptions for all candidates, voting district geography and information on voter rights, mail-in ballots and Pennsylvania voter rights for individuals with a criminal background.

For those who are voting by mail-in ballot we recommend you get them to your courthouse before the required November 3 due date.  Here is your Voter Guide online and click here for a PDF.

Thank you for Voting! Recovery Voices County!

Tell Congress to Support Increasing Emergency COVID Funding for SUD Programs

Congressional leaders and the White House have committed to restarting negotiations on another COVID-19 relief package. On September 28, the House released an updated version of the HEROES Act

NAADAC is pleased that the new relief proposal includes $8.5 billion to provide increased mental health and substance use disorder support, a $5 billion increase from the House’s previous proposal that passed in May!

House leaders are planning to use this new $2.2 trillion package to jumpstart negotiations with the White House and Senate. While it’s unclear if this legislation will lead to a bipartisan agreement before the November 3 election, negotiations are expected throughout the week.

Contact your lawmakers TODAY to help keep the pressure on Congress to reach an agreement that provides needed support for the addiction profession and the clients we serve! Please call the U.S. Capitol directly at 202.224.3121 and urge your Representative/Senators to fight for investments in SUD prevention, treatment, and recovery programs. Click here to find your U.S. Representative and click here to find your U.S. Senators.

What You Need to Say: Let your Representative/Senators know you are an addiction professional in their state or district. Let them know how COVID-19 is impacting your practice and clients. Ask them to support including at least $8.5 billion in the next COVID-19 relief package for mental health and substance use disorder programs.

Congress has the opportunity now to support treatment and recovery services in the next COVID-19 relief package for countless Americans living with addiction across the country. Remember to provide your contact information to your Representative/Senator and ask them to follow up with any questions!

Lawmakers Introduce NAADAC-Supported Legislation to Prevent Fatal Overdoses

On September 24, Senators Pat Toomey (R-PA) and Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Representatives Harley Rouda (D-CA) and Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) introduced the Improving Medicaid Programs’ Response to Overdose Victims and Enhancing (IMPROVE) Addiction Care Act (S. 4702/H.R. 8388).

NAADAC was pleased to provide the Members of Congress with feedback during the drafting process and proud to endorse these proposals that will help boost access to treatment and increase safeguards for Medicaid beneficiaries at risk of opioid-related overdoses.

This bipartisan legislation will require state Medicaid programs to use jointly-funded drug utilization review programs to increase access to treatment and boost safeguards for those on Medicaid who have experienced a non-fatal, opioid-related overdose.

While the SUPPORT for Patients and Communities Act (P.L. 115-271) included a provision to ensure prescribers are aware of Medicare patients’ history of nonfatal overdoses, this issue was not addressed equally for patients on Medicaid. This important legislation builds on previous Congressional work on addiction to address an information gap that keeps prescribers uninformed about a patients a history of overdoses. Click here for a one page summary.
