NDAFW: Reaching and Supporting Youth

2020 was a difficult year. Teens may be seeking coping mechanisms to handle the increased stress that has come with many changes and challenges in their daily lives. Teens also need information and resources and to develop the necessary skills to make informed decisions about their health.

That’s why National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week® (NDAFW) is so important.

NDAFW is a national health observance that links students with science to learn the facts about drugs and alcohol. To help spread the word, communities across the United States and around the world participate in activities and host events—now virtually—during NDAFW.

NIDA provides free materials to help teens and adults plan events for their communities that SHATTER THE MYTHS® about substance use.

NDAFW 2021 will take place March 22‒28. We hope you plan to join us. Check out these ideas to get you started

eNews: Your impact in 2020. Pray with Us for a New Year

CITYTEAM - eNews January 2021 Issue - Igniting Hope. Restoring Lives.
Dear Joseph,
Looking back on the incredible ministry done together in the past year, I’m so grateful for you. You helped put food on tables, make ends meet, and restore lives in a year full of crisis and hardship for our neighbors in need.
While we can reflect and celebrate what God did through us in 2020, there’s still so much we can do for individuals and families in our community. Throughout November and December, CityTeam met an increase in need of more than 200%, with food assistance remaining at a critical level through this extended pandemic. Below you will find some areas of our services and programs that outline 2021 ministry needs. Thank you for considering joining us again to help neighbors in need as we embark on a new year.
With gratitude,
Kwinn Tucker
Executive Director, CityTeam Chester
2021 Will Mean More Lives Transformed
2021 Will Mean More Lives Transformed
Three words come to mind as we look forward to 2021: energized, grateful, and prepared.
While there are too many needs to meet, there are many opportunities to share the hope that drives us every day. God’s strength enables us to do this. We’ve been ENERGIZED by His love, grace, and faithfulness.
We are GRATEFUL that so many friends like you stand with us through your prayers and partnership. You make us feel that our work is valued and that you believe in us enough to come alongside us in this tumultuous season.
In many ways, the coronavirus remains an unknown. But we must be PREPARED. For example, we’re concerned about what will happen when the COVID-related eviction prohibitions are lifted. When that happens, we expect to see a flood of people falling into homelessness. But with you by our side, we will be prepared.

Groceries for Families in Need
Irene was laid off in March and has faced months of struggling to provide for her three children. It’s for her family and others that we’ve developed programs like CityTeam in the Neighborhood, which safely provides nutritious food and more to at-risk households.
Thanks to you, local families can preserve their dignity as they weather these hard times.
