Give a High $5 ✋ for Sick and Injured Drivers

Make a Difference for Sick or Injured Drivers this #GivingTuesdayNOW

Our Goal

We need you during COVID-19 and beyond. We have an opportunity to receive a $10K match donation. The company will match funds from April 30 – May 5th in honor of GivingTuesday NOW – a global movement to show we are stronger together than alone. We are in the running for the match and hope you will help us reach our goal!

Give a High $5 For Sick or Injured Drivers

Our High $5! Program is designed to help us continue Saving Lives and Families, One Driver at a Time. Having reoccurring donations helps non-profits budget for the amount of assistance they will be able to provide. Your $5/month donation may not seem like much, but together with 99 other’s, we can do so much good!
Help us reach $5,000! Your donation allows us to continue supporting professional OTR and regional truck drivers with financial assistance when injury or illness takes them off the road.

The St. Christopher Fund has 2 missions:

1. To help over-the-road/regional semi-truck drivers and their families when an illness or injury has recently caused them to be out of work. This assistance is in the form of direct payment to providers for household living expenses such as, rent/mortgage, utilities, vehicle payments and insurance.
2. To provide health and wellness programs for drivers in hopes of preventing some medical illnesses.  Some of these programs include Rigs without Cigs, our smoking cessation program, and free flu, shingles and pneumonia vaccines.

The Day Every Spirit Went To One City

This Saturday: Free Contemplating Recovery Virtual Support Groups

Saturday May 2nd 9:30 am & 12:30 pm

BALANCE eating disorder treatment center™ is proud to offer a free support group for those contemplating some form of treatment for concerns related to eating, food and body image.

The group provides a supportive forum within which members can explore issues including ambivalence about engaging in treatment, recovery, resources and treatment options and knowing when and how to take the next steps towards making change.

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, all Contemplating Recovery Groups will occur virtually. We are also increasing the amount of Contemplating Recovery groups we are offering each month to provide support to those who may be struggling during this time.

The group is open to individuals seeking help and to family and loved ones.

Our upcoming groups are as follows:
May 2nd, 9:30 am & 12:30 pm with BALANCE Admissions Director Danielle Levitine & Admissions Coordinator Tamar Lichtman

COVID-19 Photo of the Week

Dear Friends,

Saturday evening, Melinda and the staff still quarantined inside the building held a worship service on the top level of the parking deck, where the Lovelady Gardens are located. At the close of the service, horns and yelling and even a police siren from Birmingham PD could be heard on the street behind the parking deck. Melinda encouraged the women to go see what all the commotion was about.

There on the street, holding signs and yelling words of encouragement, were the staff who had not been in the building for almost forty days, as well as myself, our Campus Pastor Lestley Drake and Board Chairman/COO John McNeil. It was a very moving experience for the women and children peering over, surprised and elated to see us all there. However, I believe all of us below on the street were moved even more than them.

God-moments like this fill me with love.

I just wanted to share this with all of you and thank you for your generosity during this hard time. So many of you have donated and it is so appreciated. We certainly need it right now.

Prayers for you and yours. Please continue to pray for us and please remember us next week, May 5th, on #GivingTuesdayNow!

In His Service,

Brenda Lovelady Spahn
