In the U.S. alone there are over 44,000 deaths every year due to suicide. Most of these people end up like this because they are unable to get proper treatment. 80-90% of the people who are able to get treatment are reported to have successful results. It’s clear to see that treatment is key in treating depression disorders, so today we’re going to discuss one of the latest forms of treatment in terms of unconventional psychotherapy: EMDR Therapy.
Depression is actually a serious issue with mental health and it can have severe consequences if left untreated with proven correlation to addiction. Thankfully, the conversation around mental health and the importance of it has picked up steam in recent years. Clinical depression is a severe mental illness that has a serious impact on the individual and the people around them. Another condition that often affects individuals with depression is addiction. But, how does depression cause addiction? How are the two correlated? And can addiction cause depression?
Veterans coming home from a military deployment can face several challenges in trying to fit back into society. One of the most important issues is undoubtedly all the mental and physical turmoil they went through. Veterans, especially in the Army or Marine Corps, who had moderate to severe combat have high rates of developing post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Such veterans can also show signs of other mental health problems, drug abuse and other physical health problems connected with their military service traumas.
