AND WE DID! ESTIMATED 30,000 STRONG
PRO-ACT and The Council of Southeast PA Thank YOU for coming out for the LARGEST Recovery Walk across the Nation. Over the years, PRO-ACT's Recovery Walks! in Philadelphia has grown in both number of participants and breadth of supporters. NOW, whole families are walking together, government entities, elected officials, faith based and student groups, colleges, businesses and a wide variety of service providers, have joined in to walk together.
Recap: PRO-ACT Village and others at the Walk...
We thank each and everyone who Volunteered at all of the booths, on the grounds, and those volunteering their time before, during, and after the Walk. Over 400 Volunteers made this event possible!
  • Voter Registration was an active booth! Project Home registered a number of individuals, including people who did not know they had the right to vote!
  • Criminal Records and Expungements booth was hosted by Mental Health Partnerships, whom helped individuals know their rights as it relates to their criminal records.
  • The Pennsylvania Association of Recovery Residences had a booth to answer recovery housing questions for both residents and owners.
  • The Advocacy Booth was a collaboration of organizations helping many of our Walk participants.
  • PRO-ACT's Advocacy Leadership Group and Prevention Point was very busy! They provided the comprehensive Recovery Voices Count Voter Guide (CLICK HERE), along with materials on overdose, harm reduction, upcoming events and job hunting.

Our many sponsors throughout the Walk also provided information at each of their tables regarding their organizations. We hope you had a chance to visit all of them! See a complete listing of our sponsorshere.

We also heard from Amazing Speakers, including:
  • Deputy Director Jim Carroll, White House Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP),
  • Vice Admiral Jerome Adams, Surgeon General of the United States,
  • David T. Jones, Commissioner at Philadelphia's Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services (DBHIDS)
