Britt Barker - Catching the Rise
Britt Barker Catching the Rise
Britt Barker had a good upbringing, a stable family. But he wanted to try alcohol and drugs; and so went down the road to addiction. He was arrested a few times and went through several rehabs. Finally sober since July 2015, he is making music and has released his first solo EP – Trust under the stage name Catch the Rise. He’s also helping others by counseling at the local Hospital Emergency Room in Greenville, SC.

Become a Brave Champion on
World Mental Health Day
Dear Joseph Dickerson,

When I heard the words “bipolar disorder” and “mental illness” from the psychiatrist who diagnosed me, I felt like my life was over.

With 1 in 5 Americans experiencing mental illness--and likely more with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic--you are certain to know someone facing a similar challenge.

Maybe they are struggling with depression, or anxiety, or substance use disorder.

Maybe it's a friend, a family member, or a co-worker.

Maybe it's you.

But maybe today is the day YOU help make change.

Don’t miss your chance to make a positive impact in the life of someone struggling with mental illness. Your gift will provide more people the opportunity to bravely step up and courageously speak out about living a productive, full life, in spite of their mental illness. Now is the time for change.

Joseph, help other parents through connection.

Partnership to End Addiction

Dear Joseph,

Caring for a loved one struggling with addiction can be an incredibly isolating experience. But, by sharing our experiences, we can connect with others, reduce the effects of loneliness and start building bridges that will transform how our nation addresses addiction.

Can we count on you to help others impacted by substance use feel less alone?

Share your story

Share your story

Your lived experience can help change hearts and minds. Allow us to help you share your story on our website, with your community, or local and national policymakers.

Volunteer as a parent coach

Volunteer as a parent coach

Provide compassionate support to other caregivers. Parent coaching is a peer-to-peer program, by which a parent or caregiver seeking help and perspective on their child’s substance use issues is paired with a specially trained volunteer who has also traveled the path of a child’s substance use or addiction.

With gratitude,
The Partnership to End Addiction team
