By Sanford Addiction Treatment Centers, Tuesday, October 6, 2020 4:46 AM

We’ve been under the thumb of COVID-19 long enough now, that the statistics are beginning to come in. There has been a more than 50% increase in national sales of alcohol in 2020. Tell Congress ‼️ Require Addiction Training for Health Care Providers

Partnership to End Addiction

ACT NOW

Support the Medication Access and Training Expansion (MATE) Act

Addiction is one of the biggest public health crises in our country, but health care providers receive minimal training to address it. Most health care providers simply do not know what to do when a patient has a substance use disorder and are unequipped to identify, treat and manage a common life-threatening disease that is both preventable and treatable.

At a minimum, health care providers must have a working understanding of addiction to prescribe addictive narcotics.

We urge you to send a letter to your member of Congress to have them cosponsor the Medication Access and Training Expansion (MATE) Act, S.4640/H.R.4974, a bill that would require prescribers to undergo opioid and substance use disorder training before receiving or renewing their license to prescribe controlled substances.

October 6 ,2020 Life Transformation With Spiritual Support From Scripture And The 12 Steps

October 6 , 2020
Life Transformation With Spiritual Support From Scripture And The 12 Steps

Psalm 119- 29
Keep me from cheating and telling lies. Be kind to me and teach me your law.

STEP 6
Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.

Really are you ready ! Remaining where you are in life will not bring the change you so desperately seek. Change is something most of us fear . We get set in our ways ! If your working Step 6, be very proud of yourself , most never get this far in Recovery. We recognize now how messed up and painful our lives had become okay we have reached our breaking point.Their is a lot we know about our behaviors but their is much yet to be discovered. God has taken you this far and the transformation and restoration has truly just begun.God wants us to be who He created us to be, not who we thought we wanted to be. You see where that got you! Lost, broken, and helpless , because life was never designed for you to live without Him. Along the way in order to survive you learned a lot of very bad habits or as would , some would call them character defects. I don't like using that latter term because its a very negative label that the world puts on folks who are struggling. They are not character defects ,they are learned behaviors, a by-product of our sinful nature . God has a better way all you have to do is keep going even when it gets tough. Put all your trust into Gods plan ! When you reach the other side of the steps you will see the miraculous transformation in your life and you will never be who you thought you wanted to be, you will be who God purposed you too be.

Jeremiah 29 v 11
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Greetings!
What a great gift the Lord has given us in one another. Made in His image, we are constantly revealing Him to one another, whether we know it or not. Like Jacob, we often feel alone in our sufferings. Sometimes we believe the Lord is punishing us for something. and fail to see his goodness in the midst of our pain.

I hope you enjoy reading Jacob’s testimony of God’s goodness. May we all make the same decision as Jacob; to listen when God speaks, and see His goodness in our circumstances.
Jacob October 2020—A Hope for the Hardships
For ages, people have often struggled with the idea of God’s goodness in a world filled with pain. Jacob never understood how God could be good and allow painful things to happen to him. But the Lord continued working on Jacob’s heart. Through his time in the resident program, Jacob’s struggles drew him closer to God and ultimately drew him closer to others, that they might find the same healing that he experienced.
