NCC AP Announces Updated Exams for NCAC I, NCAC II, MAC Now Available

The National Certification Commission for Addiction Professionals (NCC AP) is proud to announce that it has released updated exams for the National Certified Addiction Counselor, Level I (NCAC I)National Certified Addiction Counselor, Level II (NCAC II), & Master Addiction Counselor (MAC) credentials. The new exams are available as of September 1, 2020.

The newly updated NCAC INCAC II, and MAC exams have undergone a rigorous revision, beta testing, and psychometric analysis, and these tests are the most current, updated, and timely addiction-specific tests available.

The newly updated exams strengthen these national certifications available for professionals working within substance use disorders/addiction-related disciplines wishing to demonstrate their skills gained through years of supervised work experience and specific course work.

2021 Minority Fellowship for Addiction Counselors Is Now Accepting Applications

The NBCC Foundation and NAADAC are pleased to announce that the 2021 application period for the National Board for Certified Counselors Minority Fellowship Program for Addictions Counselors (NBCC MFP-AC) is now open.

This program is made possible by a grant awarded to the NBCC Foundation in collaboration with NAADAC by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). The program will administer up to 40 Master’s degree-level counseling fellowships of $15,000 for addictions counseling students, plus the travel expenses to participate in other program-related trainings.

National Recovery Month Has Started!

Join NAADAC in celebrating National Recovery Month! This national observance is held every September to educate Americans that substance use treatment and mental health services can enable those with a mental and/or substance use disorder to live a healthy and rewarding life.

This year's theme - Join the Voices for Recovery: Celebrating Connections - embraces the challenges experienced in 2020 and reminds people in recovery and those who support them, that we all have victories to celebrate. 

On Tuesday, September 29, 2020 the National Council for Behavioral Health and its partners are hosting a virtual Recovery Month Luncheon from 3:30-5:30pm ET. The two-hour program will include a nationally recognized keynote speaker, a Recovery Month Proclamation presented by a federal officer, table-top breakout discussions, musical entertainment, and much more! Every Thursday this month, SAMHSA will host a free webinar as a part of its 2020 National Recovery Month Webinar Series. The first webinar in the series, Integration of Medication-Assisted Treatment in Treatment and Recovery Support, takes place tomorrow, Thursday, September 3, at 1:30pm ET. Click here to join the event directly. With your help we are able to continue our mission of Saving Lives and Families, One Driver at a Time. 


Because of YOU we are able to support our highway heroes when they need us most!  This past quarter, we were able to help 78 drivers with $94,206.77 paid directly to those driver's bill holders for necessity household expenses including mortgage/rent, utility bills, insurance payments and vehicle payments.  Thank you for helping us make a difference in the lives of drivers!

The St. Christopher Truckers Relief Fund (SCF) helps over-the-road/regional semi-truck drivers and their families who are out of work due to a recent illness or injury. Assistance may be in the form of direct payment to providers for household living expenses, such as rent/mortgage, utilities, vehicle payments, and insurance.
