🌟I Am Not A Lost Cause.

I was active in my drug and alcohol addiction for nearly ten years. During those years I was labeled a “lost cause” by many different people. Family, friends, and teachers all had given up on me and sadly, I had given up on myself.

I always found myself buried in depression because I could not stop using. Did I put any legit effort in quitting? Not really. For me, alcohol and drugs were all I thought I had.

It wasn't until I was propped up by the few who still believed in me that I was able to see the possibilities of a fruitful life surrounding me.

This week kicked off the first week of Recovery Month, and I asked what recovery means to you. Today, it simply amazes me how myself, amongst many others were never too far lost or too far gone that they can't be found again.

Life isn’t always beautiful, but it is horribly disfigured once under the mask of addiction. When your mind isn’t polluted by the poison that kills us physically and spiritually, you are able to see life more clearly and that, my friend, is beautiful in itself.

Enjoy this week's wrap up!

🎂 The Birthday Party Meeting

This week we had our first Birthday Party and an Anniversary night! Congratulations to Adam Wysong on three months of sobriety! These meetings will be held on the last Monday of each month to celebrate how far we've come!

Check out the entire event schedule, here.

🎙️Dopey with Dopey Dave

Dave's addiction didn't start until his 20's, but what started out as occasionally smoking weed quickly turned to using heroin, pills, and other drugs daily.

After hitting bottom and entering a treatment center, he met Chris, who he would eventually start the Dopey Podcast with. Dopey soon gained a huge following of addicts from around the world.

What Dave didn't know is that Chris had started getting high again.

Chris tragically died from an overdose in the summer of 2018.

Listen to the whole Podcast, here.

✅ Relapse Is Optional

So you've been sober for a bit. You're starting to feel better about yourself. You get the car back, the significant other back, the job back, and all of a sudden you find yourself losing your balance on this new way of life. You're caught on a slippery slope.

The great thing is, relapse is optional and you don't have to go back there again.

Learn more about our Relapse Prevention course, here.

Watery Me – Crying in Recovery

By Lotta Dann, Thursday, September 3, 2020 10:57 AM

At the start of the pandemic I cried for two weeks. Not all day, every day, but very regularly. The enormity of the crisis, the fear about the virus, the concerns about lock down – it was a lot to deal with and get my head around. Every time an email came through from […]
