The NAADAC 2019 Annual Conference: Navigating the Addiction Profession will take place in Orlando, Florida, at the Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld on September 28 - October 3. Registration will open in January 2019!
Do you want to present at the NAADAC 2019 Annual Conference? NAADAC members and non-members are invited to submit a presentation proposal by Tuesday, January 15, 2019 for a 1.5 hour breakout session pertaining to current and relevant information on one of these nine topics:
- Practice Management & Technology
- Co-occurring Disorders
- Psychopharmacology
- Clinical Skills
- Cultural Humility
- Process Addictions
- Recovery Support
- Education/INCASE
- Peer Recovery

Job Opening: Minority Fellowship Program Manager
|
NAADAC is looking for a new Minority Fellowship Program Manager.
This full time position will work in a team environment with NAADAC staff, NAADAC leadership, the Minority Fellowship Program (MFP) Advisory Committee, and the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) Foundation.
The MFP is a fellowship program for students working toward a Master’s degree in the addiction field and committed to working with underserved populations. The MFP Manager will be responsible for serving as the main contact between NAADAC and the NBCC Foundation and overseeing the performance of all services and production deliverables by NAADAC.

2019 Minority Fellowship for Addiction Counselors – Less Than One Month to Appy
|
The NBCC Foundationand NAADAC, the Association for Addiction Professionals, are pleased to announce the 2019 application period for the National Board for Certified Counselors Minority Fellowship Program (NBCC MFP) for Addictions Counselors (MFP-AC).
This program is made possible by a grant awarded to the NBCC Foundation in collaboration with NAADAC, the Association for Addiction Professionals, by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). The program will administer up to 40 Master’s degree-level counseling fellowships of $15,000 for addictions counseling students, plus the travel expenses to participate in other program-related trainings.

|
Connect with addiction and mental health professionals in Kosovo on the NAADAC and National Council for Behavioral Health delegation from May 18-25, 2019 and earn up to 18 CEs.
Led by NAADAC Executive Director Cynthia Moreno Tuohy and the National Council for Behavioral Health President and CEO Linda Rosenberg, this World Learning program will give you a unique opportunity to learn about the state of addiction and mental health programs in this developing country, the Balkan region, and Eastern Europe.
Professional visits will focus on topics such as:
- Epidemiology of addiction and mental health disorders in Kosovo;
- Assessment, intervention and referral, treatment and care options for drug and alcohol use disorders;
- Scarcity of service providers and access to treatment;
- Role of primary care and community-based services in identification and treatment;
- Ongoing quality of life and community rehabilitation programming;
- Resources for patients and affected family members;
- Treatment for post-war traumatic disorders; and
- Roles of international NGOs in developing programs in Kosovo.
