10-3-17 TWELVE STEPPING WITH STRENGTH FROM SCRIPTURE

Psalm 7 v 9- End the evil of those who are wicked, and defend the righteous. For you look deep within the mind and heart, O righteous God.

Step 4: Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.

Recovery is a journey of self-discovery and Spiritual healing. Even though it will be difficult and painful we must dig really deep into the recesses of our minds and the caverns in our hearts. There is a root to everything and bad roots must be exposed or they will choke out what is good. Bringing something out into the open removes its power. Hiding painful stuff leaves no room for anything good! The by-product many times is self-medicating to deal with the pain and burden of allowing these roots to blossom into weeds of destruction. God will be with you and He already knows what needs to be done in order for your Spirit to be free.

Unhelpful Recovery Terms | The Fix

Unhelpful Recovery Terms | The Fix: We need to hold each other up rather than tear each other down for having a different conception of how we recover.

How It Feels to Be the Token Sober One | The Fix

How It Feels to Be the Token Sober One | The Fix: Sometimes I wonder if it would be easier if I never let go of that security blanket; if I had continued through life surrounding myself only with other people in recovery.
Later this month a new group of hurting and broken young men and women will arrive here at His Mansion.

Giving Testimony

This month, I am sharing with you excerpts of the speeches of recent graduates Jared and Naomi.  In reading them, I hope you will be encouraged, and give thanks and praise to God.
In his testimony, Jared shares, "In my daily walk with God I am still learning my responsibilities, and have learned to be humbled by denying and dying to self.  Even repentance of sin has changed.  I used to condemn myself for committing them but I don't hang my head in shame anymore.  I look to the cross and look to Jesus."
