This time of year can be overwhelming.
Stress is a survival mechanism telling our bodies to take a break. When we experience stress and get caught in a negative thought pattern, we feed into belief systems that eat away at our self-esteem, which can lead to old patterns or behaviors.
When we realize our parenting skills to ourselves are skewed, the answers to why we mitigate our needs can be traced back to what we never received in childhood.
The process of learning how to reparent ourselves forces us to clarify our “why’s” in multiple areas of our lives. It forces us to know ourselves, trust ourselves, and establish clear boundaries with others.
So where do we start?
Learn in this week's Recovery Coaching session.
We have a new Sunday morning meeting starting this week! Our Coffee & Recovery meeting will be hosted by Jessica and is bound to be a great way to start off your Sunday, spread hope, and stay connected.
Find out all the meeting details.
Growing up in a small town, Dennis found himself experimenting with marijuana and hallucinogens at a young age. After he graduated from high school, he left home and moved to Alaska. Living in a Native village distributing drugs and alcohol, his addiction escalated after witnessing traumatic events.
Laura recalls moments where she would look herself in the mirror and tell herself that she wouldn't drink too much, but inevitably she would continue to drink to excess. She finally realized how severe her problem had become after waking up to a totaled car in her driveway.
