We invite you to be inspired by two voices this week: Patric Johnson, a Hip-Hop Artist and Mental Health Advocate, and Jada Bromberg, a 16-year-old high school student from Virginia.
Black People’s Mental Health Matters
By Patric Johnson

I look back at my adolescent and early adulthood years and remember the struggles I experienced with what was going on with me and how to address it. I was not mindful of the therapy or support groups out there that could guide me along my journey dealing with anxiety and depression. Keep reading...
At Last
By Jada Bromberg

Days have come where I wake up
A feather is how I would describe
The delusional feeling I now abide
Like surfing a wave at its peak

At last, joy is rushing into me
Commitment, strive, and integrity
Making time for things I love
Pushing myself to never give up

Free Contemplating Recovery Virtual Support Groups this Saturday!

Saturday June 27th 11:00 am & 12:30 pm

With BALANCE Founder Melainie Rogers
&
Admissions Coordinator Tamar Lichtman, LMSW

BALANCE eating disorder treatment center™ is proud to offer a free support group for those contemplating some form of treatment for concerns related to eating, food and body image.

The group provides a supportive forum within which members can explore issues including ambivalence about engaging in treatment, recovery, resources and treatment options and knowing when and how to take the next steps towards making change.

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, all Contemplating Recovery Groups will occur virtually. We are also increasing the amount of Contemplating Recovery groups we are offering each month to provide support to those who may be struggling during this time.

The group is open to individuals seeking help and to family and loved ones.

Here are the group times for this Saturday:

June 27th, 11:00 am with BALANCE Founder Melainie Rogers

June 27th, 12:30 pm with BALANCE Admissions Coordinator Tamar Lichtman
