Staying Connected: A Message from Our CEO on COVID-19

Dear Friends and Supporters,
As our country moves into what appears to be a new reality arising from the COVID-19 pandemic, the health, safety and well-being of our staff, community members and their families are top priorities for us. Through this challenging period and until further notice, Center on Addiction staff is working remotely while doing its part to contain this latest public health threat. But our work continues.
We are dedicated to making our expert resources and content available to those in need via our website, social media and direct-to-family services (including phone, text and email options to connect)—especially during this time of crisis for the nation. Families can continue to seek help, answers and loving support at Center on Addiction. Learn more about our support services by reading our evolving COVID-19 content where you can access additional resources.
I am confident that we will find balance, for both our staff and families in need, by practicing self-care, flexibility, understanding and compassion. While we may be physically separated, we will continue to work together and connect with each other in a myriad of ways. I look forward to keeping in touch with all of you over the coming weeks and keeping the mission to end addiction top of mind.

Regards,
Creighton Drury, CEO

A Psalm Of Safety | All Believers Need To Hear This Message

Truckers Need Your Help Right Now - COVID-19 Update

We are in unprecedented times. With the ongoing spread of COVID-19 and the incredible speed at which things are changing around us, we are proactively adapting our operations. We are taking every possible precaution to keep our staff safe during this time. We remain open to continue our mission of Saving Lives and Families, One Driver at a Time. Our nation’s truck drivers are heroes, and they deserve our thanks for delivering life-saving medical supplies, devices, food, and products during this global pandemic.

  • First, we are making sure driver and/or family applicants who contract the coronavirus are taking the necessary precautions using the CDC’s regularly updated guidelines. We anticipate an increase in applications of those infected over the next few months. We will handle each case with the same care and consideration we give all applicants.

  • Second, we are providing daily updates on the ever-changing regulations and protocols drivers will face on the road. We are monitoring every media organization, regulatory association, and industry-related outlet for up-to-date news and information pertinent to OTR drivers.

  • Third, we need your help to provide additional relief to truckers right now. Truckers are the backbone of this country who touch the lives of nearly every American, and they need your support more than ever. If there’s a way to give back, discount, provide relief, etc. for a trucker – make the decision to help. We will share and support your relief efforts in any way we’re able to.

Help us support the unsung heroes who sacrifice so much to keep this country moving. Truck drivers deserve our support now more than ever. Help us provide relief to truck drivers around the country, who are delivering relief to every citizen across the country.

Thank you for supporting the St. Christopher Truckers Relief Fund.

Sincerely,

Donna Kennedy
Executive Director, St. Christopher Truckers Relief Fund

From: Jennifer King, Executive Director

An Update on Program Changes in Response to the COVID-19 Epidemic for The Council of Southeast PA/PRO-ACT as of March 16, 2020:

We will be closing our sites to in person client services, and most of our staff will be working remotely to continue to connect those we serve to the resources needed, and providing telephonic recovery support services and other services. We are currently working on several telephonic and group platforms to provide recovery support, and we will be sharing details about those shortly. We will continue to inform you of any and all resources as we launch them.

Our Information Line is a resource that can help answer your questions concerning alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs; and provide information, support, referrals and advocacy. (800) 221-6333 Referral/Information Line 9a-5p M-F. And staff are also sharing that the Call PA Get Help Now 1-800-662-4357 (HELP) is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. If someone is experiencing an emergency, please call 911.
To reach a program staff member, call 215.345.6644 and follow the prompts which should get the calls to the intended staff person.

We are following the recommended protocols and the precautions that have been set forth by the CDC and the Pennsylvania Department of Health and encourage everyone in our community to do the same:
• Cough or sneeze into your elbow.
• Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available.
• Avoid touching your face when possible and wash your hands if you do touch your face.
• Clean surfaces frequently, including countertops, light switches, cell phones, remote controls, and other frequently touched items.
• Practice Social Distance by staying home except for essential outings, and maintain six feet of distance between people when on those outings.

For more information on COVID-19 Responses, visit https://www.health.pa.gov/topics/disease/Pages/Coronavirus.aspx

Below are useful resources that The Bucks County Drug & Alcohol Commission, Inc. has provided for us to share.

We appreciate your flexibility and patience in this matter, as the health and safety of our program participants, our staff, and our community is of the highest importance
