Write to Congress- Demand Health Coverage for Addiction Treatment!

TAKE ACTION
A new bill, H.2874/S.1576 the Behavioral Health Coverage Transparency Act, has been introduced in both houses of Congress. This bill will help to ensure insurance companies are complying with the Parity Act, legislation which was passed over a decade ago and requires most health insurance companies to cover treatment for mental health and substance use disorders the same way they cover treatment for other diseases.

Along with establishing a Consumer Parity Unit, this important legislation would require federal agencies to provide needed oversight for families in crisis to get help, submit complaints and receive a timely response.

Millions of families still struggle to get insurance coverage for needed treatment and are unaware of their rights under the Parity Act. With nearly 290 Americans dying every day from a drug overdose or suicide, now is the time to strengthen and enforce the Parity Act.

Tell your Members of Congress to cosponsor H.R. 2874/S.1576!

Pain produces a desperate need for Gods Help!

June 3 , 2019 TRANSFORMATION THROUGH SPIRITUAL TRUTH FROM SCRIPTURE AND THE TWELVE STEPS TODAY STEP 1

Step 1: We admitted we were powerless over chemical substances that our lives had become unmanageable.(World big book)

2 Corinthians 7 8 I am not sorry that I sent that severe letter to you, though I was sorry at first, for I know it was painful to you for a little while. 9 Now I am glad I sent it, not because it hurt you, but because the pain caused you to repent and change your ways. It was the kind of sorrow God wants his people to have, so you were not harmed by us in any way. 10 For the kind of sorrow God wants us to experience leads us away from sin and results in salvation. There’s no regret for that kind of sorrow. But worldly sorrow, which lacks repentance, results in spiritual death. (GODS BIG BOOK)

Pain and sorrow were designed to bring about change. In a sense we have to be broken down of old self and rebuilt into a new self. Pain and sorrow come in many forms and if we shut down because of it we will stop growing and eventually succumb to our self medicating ways and suffer spiritual death. God is the only one who can take sorrow and pain and use it to change you from broken to fixed. Self medicating to drown the sorrow or stop the pain never works and only makes life worse. God has a plan, sorrow and pain were designed to bring you surrendered to the cross where you need to be ! At that Cross Gods Son Jesus Christ experienced more pain then we could ever imagine. God and His son did all that so you wouldn't have to!
