2018 TCS NYC Marathon
Dear Joseph,

Make your miles matter this year by running the 2018 TCS New York City Marathon with the Partnership for Drug-Free Kids as a Partner for Hope.

If you weren’t granted entry into the 2018 TCS New York City Marathon, you can still run this iconic race as a Partner for Hope by fundraising on behalf of the families we serve. Our runners will be asked to meet a fundraising minimum of $3,500 to receive guaranteed entry and customized support. Every dollar you raise will enable us to create even more resources and offer one-on-one support for families struggling with their child’s substance use.

Already secured an entry through NYRR? Congratulations! You too can ensure your race has an impact by running on behalf of the families we serve. Click here to learn more.

Not a runner but still want to get involved? If you are interested in volunteering with us on race day, let us know so we can cheer on our runners together.

Run or Volunteer as a Partner for Hope

Sincerely,

Kaila Sassano

How I became and remain a motivated and Sober Parent | The Fix

How I became and remain a motivated and Sober Parent | The Fix: As I muddled through my mid forties, the stress of dealing with work and being a single parent meant that the way I dealt with every emotion was to get hammered every day to blackout. I was haunted that I was setting my young son Joseph up for a life battling addiction simply by the example I set. At the same time, I noticed that my mental abilities were significantly reduced and I could not rely on my memory. I didn't even realize that these two concerns were connected !

Breathe. | The Fix: My perpetrator left me with a parting gift from my assault. My body healed, but my mind will never be the same.

Jane Velez-Mitchell Honored at the Experience, Strength, and Hope Awards | The Fix: “The ESH awards are crucial for the recovery community in that they provide a fun way for addiction experts to come together and celebrate sobriety while, at the same time, trading ideas and strategies about how best to inspire and promote recovery.'
