TWELVE STEPPING WITH STRENGTH FROM SCRIPTURE

Psalm 74 v 20 - Have respect to the covenant; For the dark places of the earth are full of the haunts of cruelty.

STEP 1 admitted we were powerless over chemical substances - that our lives had become unmanageable.

When you make a deal with God to save you from the dark places don't go back on your word. God holds your very life in His hands! That's what the covenant is! When I finally hit rock bottom and wanted to just die, I cried out to God, If your real please help me. I will celebrate you everyday just get me out of this horrible life. He heard me and I have been for the most part keeping up my end of the bargain.

TWELVE STEPPING WITH STRENGTH FROM SCRIPTURE

Psalm 69 v 5 - O God, you know my foolishness; and my sins are not hidden from you.

Step 5: Admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.

Whatever it is you're hiding will eventually find its way out and expose you. It also keeps you sick internally, keeping you stuck in your self-medicating ways. Get it out in the open and it will lose its power over you. God already knows He is waiting for you to come to Him, you are His creation and a special treasure in His eyes, but He can't hear or help you if you're not willing, to be honest with Him. Humility and Honesty will get and keep you sober!
