The Medicine Abuse Project launches the week of September 23-29, setting the stage for a multi-year effort to raise awareness and curb the abuse of medicine.

Join The Partnership at Drugfree.organd help us prevent a half a million teens from abusing medicine within five years through education and action.

Our Action Plan

Together with parents, teachers, health care professionals, media and state, local and federal government partners, we are leading a national education effort and call to action to:

• Educate about the dangers of abusing prescription and over-the-counter medicines
• Monitor prescriptions and over-the-counter medicines
• Safeguard and properly Dispose of unused medication
• Eliminate improper prescribing and dispensing practices

I wanted to say thank you for reading / commenting the Addiction Journal. With your support over the past two years, readership has grown tremendously. I am thankful the blog has become a useful resource for other parents. This was my intended goal when I started writing.

Fellowship Hall is a private not-for-profit alcohol and drug treatment facility that has been located in Greensboro, North Carolina for more than 40 years. We employ a Twelve-Step philosophy to help our guests in treatment understand an
d cope with their disease and learn to live a productive life without drugs or alcohol. Our surveys show that up to 70 percent of our guests remain sober at least one year after treatment.

Our facilities in Greensboro also serve as a training ground for psychiatric residents and other medical professionals who come here to learn about addiction management and care.

Fellowship Hall has the distinction of being the first Alcohol and Drug Treatment Specialty Hospital licensed by the State of North Carolina.

Fellowship Hall's award winning facility has been recognized many times for excellence and provides alcohol and drug addiction training to Duke University Health System's Psychiatric Residency Program as well as local universities' nursing and counseling programs.
