We Still Need Your Voice! Contact Your Senators Today to Oppose a Repeal of the ACA
|
While the Senate Healthcare bill has been defeated, the healthcare fight is not done in Washington. The current plan is to force the Senate to vote on legislation to repeal the Affordable Care Act (ACA) early next week and give Congress two years to devise a replacement. NAADAC believes this action will undermine efforts to address the opioid crisis, significantly worsen the public health epidemic, and make it harder for people with substance use disorders to get the help they desperately need.
We must stay persistent in our protection of people who rely on the ACA and Medicaid for comprehensive health coverage, services, and supports that help them to live full lives in recovery. We urge legislators on both sides of the aisle to work together to find improvements and workable fixes within the framework of the ACA.
Please call the U.S. Capitol directly at 202-224-3121 to urge your Senators to vote NO on repealing the ACA. Click here to find your Senators.

2017 AC Spotlight: Cardwell C. Nuckols on The Art & Science of Healing: Finding the Healing Self Inside
|
NAADAC is excited to announce that Cardwell C. Nuckols, PhD, will be presenting a keynote session entitled The Art & Science of Healing: Finding the Healing Self Inside at the upcoming 2017 Annual Conference: Elevate Your Practice in Denver, Colorado, taking place from September 22nd to September 26th.
Experience the awareness and awakening of your healing SELF in this powerful program for those who are seeking to enhance their healing potential. This skills building training will increase your clinical effectiveness. It has been stated that as much as 75% of recovery from psychiatric (psychological) disorders such as depression is attributable to the various aspects of the relationship between the therapist and patient. Evidence-based approaches are important but without the creation of a healing relationship compliance is uncertain and effectiveness marginal, at best. The skills training event will help participants learn to take advantage of their natural healing potential. The neurobiology behind this potential will be explained in detail.
